BEFORE YOU START
This is a household planning brief. The WiiM documentation is a specific example of grouping, not evidence that Arylic, AirPlay or other platforms behave identically.
Steps
- 1
List the rooms and who uses each one. Mark whether they need the same programme, independent music or television sound. A separate volume control is not the same requirement as a separate source.
- 2
For the documented WiiM example, one device supplies the group’s audio while group and individual volume controls remain available. Ungroup devices to return to independent playback. Verify the chosen service and account in the UAE instead of assuming that every app supports the same route.
- 3
Choose one agreed scenario first: music in the majlis and kitchen with the family room quiet. Ask the installer to demonstrate starting the group, lowering only the kitchen and removing a room. Record the actual outcome and the app used.
- 4
Use the new SPL record as a bounded handover example: Rojas tested Ultra with WiiM Amp on 3 October 2026; the record was accepted on 7 October. The group ran for 30 minutes without a reported drop, with synchronization judged by ear. Ultra used firmware 5.2.829661, app 3.6.10.092711 and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. This does not measure TV lip-sync or certify a UAE installation. In a separate 60-minute TIDAL run, one interruption recovered on the next track; cause and repeatability remain unknown. Test grouping and each service separately.
- 5
Test TV sound separately in the room with the picture. Group delay and a Bluetooth speaker attached downstream can change timing. SoundPath Lab’s ARC/optical guide helps identify format and control questions; it does not certify the finished installation.
- 6
Define guest use without handing over household passwords. Decide who may change sources and where mute is accessible. Ask a family member who did not configure the system to restore the normal arrangement after supported standby.
- 7
Keep a room-by-room record of device, source, volume control and accepted behaviour. Expand only after the first arrangement works. Share the emirate, room sketch and unanswered requirements with the project partner; leave account and network credentials out of the brief.
Check if the result differs
If one room plays the wrong programme, check group membership and the selected source before treating the speaker as faulty. If sound is late only against a picture, record timing as a separate issue.
Sources and evidence
Use the exact product manuals and manufacturer pages for the models involved. SPL Hub interface is reserved but not connected; no local test or user feedback is presented as verified evidence.
Make the plan usable at home
For a majlis or shared living room, choose who controls playback and volume, where the controls stay, and what guests may access. For several rooms, record which zones need the same music and which need independent playback. Test the agreed routine with the people who will use it before expanding the system.
For help, include your emirate, the model names, a rear-panel photo and the connection already tried. Share only the room details needed for the enquiry.
